Grey

Back when he was a male Demi-Human, Grey was not well adapted to crowds.  Bred to act as a spy just before the animal-mix humanoids gained their freedom, Grey was never properly trained for his job and had only his genetic predispositions to guide him.  No matter his attempted profession, Gray simply was unable to interact well in groups, and eventually became reclusive.  Taking residence in the mountains outside of his home city, he did fairly well for himself, until blasting on the mountain, well known in advance to the other citizens, buried him in rubble.  This would have been the end of Gray's story were it not for his second chance at MSF High, though his arrival was not in a dorm room.  Instead, he came to the school as a stone gargoyle situated outside of one of main street's buildings.  For weeks, he watched over the city, and it wasn't until the owner of the building was asked about their new decoration that anyone realized that it was a new student.  Kasumi's attention was brought to young Grey, and realizing the problem, sent another gargoyle student with telepathic mind magic to Grey to teach him how to use his transformative power to return to a fleshy form.  The other gargoyle soon realized that the main reason Grey had not turned back was that he had never bothered to try.  Finally, Grey had a way to deal with others without the need to actually interact.  By sitting and watching the students, teachers, and citizens of Mahou City going about their daily lives, Grey was getting closer to being a functioning member of society.  Explaining his position and the discomfort caused by being around others, Grey convinced Kasumi to allow him to keep his position on the building, so long as he come out of his stone form long enough to read up on his schoolwork and complete any assignments due.  Slowly but surely, Grey's started taking flesh form more often to accept his assignments from the various flying students that deliver them, and he's even taken to flights around the city late at night.  On a couple of occasions, he's even found shadows moving into the city and has managed to dispatch them before anyone else even knew they existed.  Someday, Grey may finally come off his roof to join the rest of the students at MSF High, but for now he's content simply to watch over them and learn what it truly means to depend on others, but for that to happen someone must convince him that others can care about him the way he naturally wants to protect them.
